Neighbourhood Watch... ...in Mid Sussex

Mid Sussex is in the West Downs Division of Sussex Police's Neighbourhood Policing Teams.  The mission for Neighbourhood Watch in Mid Sussex is:

  • to develop and maintain close working relationships with their Neighbourhood Policing Team members through communication with the local Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), Policing Sergeant (NPS), Policing Constable (NPC) and the Neighbourhood Watch Manager.

  • to support and disseminate current initiatives from the national organisation Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network (NHWN).

Neighbourhood PolicingNeighbourhood Watch schemes consist of homes and businesses that form a cohesive community group whose members work together to develop and maintain a safe and crime-free environment, led by an Area Coordinator.

They are encouraged to deploy suitable security methods, be vigilant and exchange relevant crime prevention methods and pass on current crime alerts.

Local residents are best placed to recognise suspicious activity within their community and prompt information from schemes is always valuable.
